About us

We are Mieke and Fenja van Braam, owners of Druppelzorg BV. Pleased to meet you, and glad you are interested in the Druppel glasses.

The Drop Glasses were developed by Evert van Voorst and Ab Zwaan. Ab (85 at the time) had to drip his eyes several times a day because of cataract surgery. While dripping, he forgot to take off his reading glasses, causing the liquid to spill on the glass. Ab thought, “Now if I just drill a hole in those glasses, I can keep my reading glasses on while dripping.”

His klaverjas friend Evert (then 87 years old) came to visit Ab and saw the glasses with the hole. Since he himself also had to drip every day, he got the idea to make several holes in the glasses - suitable for different types of bottles. This made dripping much easier.

Thus, the Drop Glasses were born.

The gentlemen founded Druppelzorg and went to market. The Druppel glasses became a huge success! (See bottom of this page: “in the media”).

In 2019, they sold the company to us and retired - for the second time in their lives. After all, this was beginning to look very much like working again....
